Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
THE STORY THUS FAR!
Year 100 HA, May 20th
"Sakra, as soon as you landed upon the planet, you received a message: there is a target in the Aldea district that may be of interest...a large Behemian estate (but the message repeats itself), where a famous painting has recently been moved to - Future's Flower, a vivid Zero-augmented image of a young Vulpian child, carrying a little stuffed animal with her. It'd be quite the catch if you could steal it...
What KIND of stuffed animal?
Stuffed Vaz?!?!
SOLD!
STEALING THAT SPACE PAINTING
And I shall have a stuffed Vaz made while I'm out.
A small winged cat...but you can place an order for a stuffed Vaz if you want
ORDER PLACED
Sakra then uses far more secure channels than asking a dude on a roof to sell off her old sword mods, and buy an Eezo mod.
Sakra's old sword mod is swiftly collected, and her new mod dropped off, by an Amazon.LZ space drone.
With that done, she goes off to look at the target directly.
@Supremezero It takes a while to get to the house - it's a solid hour of magrail away, which is to say, a few thousand kilometers from the starport.
But eventually, you arrive.
It's not hard to spot the edifice - it's a solid ninety metres tall, and surrounded by a spiraling garden maze.
And of course, by a fence and other, more subtle and powerful defenses.
Time to case the joint.
Is the estate private?
@Supremezero Private. It's a residence.
Does anyone come and go from the estate?
@Supremezero Nobody coming in.
Nobody going out either.
Seems like a quiet place.
At least right now."

The fence is made of wrought iron bars, which jut up ten feet into the air and end in spiked tips.

What time of day is it?
What information do I have about the owner of the Estate?

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Strangely enough, your data search finds absolutely no information on the owner of this estate. It's as if all the information was methodically scrubbed out...that can't be unintentional. Either they value their privacy overmuch or are hiding something.
Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Sakra skulks around the premises until nightfall.
Because it's not a proper heist if it happens during the day!

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
...Of course. It's only natural that this kind of defense would be present. Sakra detects a very particular Zero field emanating from the manor. A very sensitive sort of field, meant to detect any foreign presences and inform the emitter about them. You'll have to find a way to foil it if you want to make any decent headway.
Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
As entertaining as a chase would be, at the moment being seen at all would probably make things rather complicated. As such, Sakra reaches out with power to discover more about the source of the field.

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
It's hard to make much out from this distance, but at least one thing comes across clearly: Up. The emitter, whatever (or whoever) it is, is further up above you. Maybe on the roof? Hard to say from this position.
Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Such distance and height is a problem.
For most people.
But not for Sakra! She reaches out through the darkness, to see and perhaps disable the source of the emitter!
(Activate Shadow World: While in or adjacent to a dimly lit or dark square, all squares of dimly light or darkness are effectively adjacent to you)

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
You catch only a fleeting glimpse of it, as you're half-displaced into the manor itself...
...Into a darklit room...
...Where a large medical fluid pod sits, within which a Kineth floats up and down in a comatose state.
And just like that, you are returned to your initial position, before the emitter can do much more than track you as a blip on its radar. What could merit that sort of live (and most probably highly illegal) security?

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
"Sorry, Kineth. I don't know whether you wanted to be there or not, and I'm not entirely sure what this'll do to one of your race, but I don't like the look of this place."
Sakra teleports inside the gate, staying there long enough to ping the alarms, + 5 seconds... and then teleports to the Kineth, using Impossible Thief to steal his detection ability.

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
The moment you attempt to tap into the emitter's zero field and seize it as your own, you feel your consciousness smash your head wide open, rushing out like a flood. You percieve...everything, for a moment. Or at least it feels like it. The hundred or so people inside the manor, and tens of thousands of other minds far away from here. They recognize you too, and salute you...until they take a closer look, and you feel a rising sense of disapproval. It slams against you like a solid object, and threatens to make you faint...
*Sakra is hit by a Cypher Scramble...rolls 20 to resist*
Your vision goes blurry, and you lose your grip on the emitter's zero field, but you can at least tell he (she? It's hard to tell right now) is connected to the other Kineth of Ur-Kal, and not an outcast. And apparently, they care for it quite a bit...
...You hear voices outside the room. Someone's coming.
(At -2 to attack rolls and skill checks right now. Will fade away after a short rest.)

Is there anything in the room besides the person jar?

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
You see several measuring instruments all around the glass tank, and a large, ancient console against one of the walls. It's a spartan place, but there could be enough room to hide in it, provided people don't just swarm in.
Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Sabotage the machinery connecting the Kineth to the alarms

Then, how tall is the "ancient console"? Does it reach clear up to the ceiling?

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
(Yes, nearly so. There's a small space between the top of it and the ceiling itself.)
Being a hologram sometimes has its advantages. You quickly spot the cabling connecting the tank to the security system and unplug it, and instantly the alarms go quiet. Now you just need to create an escape plan and you'll be set.

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Hide behind the tank. Be ready to teleport out through the door while it's closing (and/or when people stop coming through it)

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Sakra chose her hiding spot not a moment too soon, as a twelve-man armed squad busted in, dressed in battle gear and armed to the teeth.
"There it is! The emitter!" One of them shouted, rushing towards the tank. Doesn't look damaged...what happened here?"
"Must've been a malfunction," another one said. "Call the techs. We'll set up a perimeter and begin making the rounds, just in case."
Taking her chance, Sakra slipped out while they were talking. Outside was a lushly carpeted hallway...the size and width of a great hall. Each door that dotted the walls was massive, meant for much larger beings than a Vulpian. She had a chance to roam the place now...better to make the most of it before the security grid was restored again.

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Forcing open a twenty metre tall door noiseless presented something of a dilemma. Sakra's strength was not enough to open them, but there had to be a way for normal-sized visitors to navigate this manor. After a brief search, she found it: ID terminals where a card could be used to open the doors. She just needed to manufacture herself a fake ID and whatever the doors were hiding would reveal itself to her.
Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
With her knowledge of fake ID's, Sakra crafts one.

Re: Side Mission: Persona 5 (Sakra)
Such a simple security system is no match for Sakra. With the way forward open, she slipped inside...into a large ballroom full of holographic people. Old-school holograms, the space blue variety, belonging to several species, carrying out virtual tasks. Several of the ones closest to the door turned their attention toward you and smiled. Their response was uniform.
"Welcome home."
"Welcome home."
